Foreign Trip's in 2019!!

Some of the more interesting aircraft on my travels in 2019!

Dublin, Baldonnel and Weston Wednesday 9/01/19.

The day started at Leeds Bradford Airport where David Thompson and myself boarded Ryanair (RYR153) Boeing 737-800 EI-DWP for the short 40 minute flight across the Irish sea. After a very smooth flight came the usual Ryanair aircraft carrier landings, with this being the worst ive experienced with the carrier!! "i nearly asked to see the pilots driving license on leaving the plane it was that bad"  anyway after a quick pass through the terminal it was off to collect the car rental and visit the local Aviation Collage near the Airport where Dave had arranged to see the inmates their. Only two aircraft here now but one is a classic and of interest to me, a Learjet 25B  N829AA C/N 25B-100 which is still in its old colours of USA Jet Airlines, and the other inmate being a Robinson R22 Helicopter.

So.... after a shooting this classic it was off to the mound at Dublin Airport as the sun was rising... Had several hours here in glorious light shooting the Aer Lingus stuff before they all get repainted, but missing the CityJet Sukhoi Superjets that were all parked up after being released from SN Brussels Airlines a couple of days previous...  anyway we soon perked up as heard their was a Basler Turbo Dakota N141PR due transiting in from Reykjavik to Pisa eventually heading onto Djibouti/Cairo before heading back across the pond some 7 days later...

while others of note were.......  9H-GIO Ce525 Citationjet, WOW Air Airbus A321 TF-DOG operating (WOW852/6) Reykjavik service, EI-RJN BAe RJ85 in some basic Aer Lingus scheme operating the (EIN284/5) London City service, Blue Air Boeing 737-800 YR-BMP (in the Carol Livery) arriving from Cluj-Napoca as (BMS3755/6), while operating the (FIA711/2) service from Chisinau was Fly One Airbus A319 ER-00002, and another new airline for me still showing colours from its pervious operator Air Berlin, operating from and to Vienna was Laudamotion was Airbus A321 OE-LCG as (LDM342/1)....

So.. what was a most productive morning in the bag at Dublin, we headed off to Baldonnel air base as i had arranged a tour of the museum and base, we were told not to post any shots from either the base or the museum on tinternet, but did manage to shoot all the aircraft around the place...  then as the light was fading we headed over to Weston as Dave had arranged a quick hanger tour, not a lot of interest here for me but what did go in the box were the following residents i believe...  EI-LCM SOCATA TBM700N, N30VT classic 1973 Beech V35B Bonanza. N498YY Ce525 Citationjet CJ1, while over at the other side of the field were a couple of classics which were certainly of interest to me... classic Grumman G-21 Goose N4575C, Percival P.66 Pembroke XL954 (G-BXES) and lastly an ex Ryanair HS748 EI-BSF, which now helps the fire school here at Weston Airport...

with it now being dark, we had a quick cuppa and headed back to Dublin Airport, and after dropping the car off had a bite to eat and waited for out chariot home, which was EI-ESV Boring 737-800 as (RYR156), and had us back to Leeds Bradford in a quick 39 minutes, "with a great landing for a change!"

Zurich Airport 22-25/01/19.

Not been to Zurich for the World Economic Forum which is held at DAVOS for several years so decided to have a few days out their...   Flew out of London Heathrow on the 6am (SWR345) Swiss Airbus A320 HB-JLP, which had us over to a cool Zurich in just over an hour.. I was staying a couple of miles from the airport in the Swiss Star Apartments, which resulted in me getting the Tram number 10 to commute between the two...    anyway had two photo bus tours, one on the Tuesday after i arrived, the other on a night shoot tour on the Thursday..  enjoyed them both even though i was a bit concerned on how much we would shoot with us using tri-pods and taking longer to get our shots on the night shoot... didn't get round every where but got all of the most interesting stuff which was on offer.....

1st Day Tuesday 22nd

2nd Day Wednesday 23rd

3rd Day Thursday 24th

4th Day Friday 25th

and then off home for my flights onboard two aircraft types ive not flown on, which seen me go Zurich-London City with Swiss on one of their Bombardier C-Series 100 or (Airbus A220) or what ever their called now,  then connect onto an Eastern Airways Saab 2000 for the newly started London City Newcastle route.. or should i say what i had planned until the Swiss C-Series HB-JBE went tech at Zurich and delayed us that much that i missed my Newcastle bound flight, so now having been deserted by Swiss and missed all other connections to get back to the North East, the only choice and last option was an overnight mega bus back home......  and sleep!
